Why fuel causes so many problems

Many outdoor power equipment faults begin with old or contaminated fuel. Small carburettor passages can block easily, especially when machines sit unused.

Good fuel habits

  • Buy fuel in smaller amounts so it is used while fresh.
  • Store fuel in a clean approved container.
  • Keep containers sealed and away from heat.
  • Label two-stroke mix clearly so it is not confused with straight petrol.
  • Avoid leaving fuel sitting in a machine for long storage periods.

Good fuel habits are one of the cheapest ways to improve starting reliability.
