Two-stroke fuel basics

Two-stroke machines rely on the correct oil mix for lubrication. Too little oil can damage the engine. Too much oil can cause smoke, carbon build-up and poor running.

Workshop tips

  • Always follow the machine or oil manufacturer recommendation.
  • Use a clean fuel container dedicated to two-stroke mix.
  • Shake the container before filling the machine.
  • Do not guess the oil amount.
  • Clearly label the container with the mix ratio.

When in doubt, ask before filling the tank. Incorrect fuel can quickly become an expensive mistake.
