Prepare before storage

Machines that sit for months are more likely to develop fuel, corrosion and starting problems. A few minutes of preparation can save a repair bill later.

Storage steps

  • Clean grass, dust and oil from the machine.
  • Remove or manage old fuel correctly.
  • Check the oil level before storage.
  • Store in a dry place away from weather.
  • Keep chainsaws with the bar and chain protected.
  • Test generators periodically so they are ready when needed.

If a machine already starts poorly, service it before storage rather than leaving the problem to worsen.
